My October Birchbox is finally here!

Why does it seem like I’m always the last girl on the planet to receive mine every month?

Oh well at least it’s here now and that’s all that counts right?

October Birchbox

Included in my October box was:

Redken Shine Flash

1. Redken Shine Flash

A weightless finishing spray that uses camelina oil and vitamin b5 to give you silky, shimmering strands.

Tea Forte Minteas

2. Tea Forte Minteas

Tea Mints for fitness.

Befine Lip Exfoliator

3. Befine Lip Exfoliator

A lip healing wonder. This exfoliator sloughs away flakes and cracks to leave lips velvety smooth.

Blinc Mascara

4. Blinc Mascara

This tubing mascara won’t smudge, smear or run – plus it gives lashes a sassy, glossy look.

Pangea Organics Facial Scrub

5. Pangea Organics Facial Scrub

This all natural scrub uses cranberry seed enzymes and finely ground adzuki bean to clear away dead skin so your products can do their job.

I’d have to say this was another great box from Birchbox, I actually preferred this months to the last one.

What did you receive in your box this month?

Rimmel Glam Eyes Flirt Mascara

I picked up this mascara recently during the CVS 75% off sale and boy am I glad I did.

It’s amazing.

And the wand gives you the most gorgeous long, voluminous lashes I just love it.

Rimmel Glam Eyes Flirt Mascara

This one ranks right up there with Loreal Voluminous as my favorite drugstore mascara.

Be sure to pick it up if you see it on sale or even at full price, because it’s worth it.

Have you tried this mascara before?

June 2011 Beauty Favorites

June 27, 2011 by: admin

Are you someone who has a million beauty products, but always uses the same few over and over and over?

If so you’re just like me.

It seems like I’ve used nothing, but these few products over and over again lately.

2011 Summer/June Beauty Favorites

1. Prtty Peaushun Body Lotion. This stuff is amazing!
2. Xen Tan Daily Self Tan. Best self tanner I’ve ever used!
3. Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray. Use this and your makeup won’t budge all day!
4. Origins Vitazing Moisturizer. The only “foundation” I’ve been wearing lately.
5. Pro Face No Sweat Perspiration Retardant. Use this under your foundation for those days you’ll be in the sun a lot, but still want to look fresh.
6. Organix Moroccan Argan Oil. This product prevents UV damage to your hair and leaves it soft and smooth.
7. Lorac Double Feature Concealer and Highlighter. Decent product, not sure if I’d repurchase yet though.
8. Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain in Frenzy. I normally don’t like lipstains, but this is great for a day at the beach or at the pool because it stays put.
9. Urban Decay Naked Palette. Love this palette!
10. Mehron Setting Powder. This antiperspirant product is great for keeping the summer greasy look away.
11. Victoria’s Secret Radiant Face Trio in White Hot. Love this highligher. It’s just gorgeous.
12. Not pictured, but a favorite none the less is Benefits Creaseless Shadow in RSVP. Wear this under Urban Decays Sin as a primer and my shadow lasts all day.

And a swatch. Isn’t it gorgeous?

Small Haul CVS and Bath & Body Works

Small Haul CVS and Bath & Body Works

I’ve been hearing about the CVS Beauty Sale for the past few weeks, but mine never had anything. So during a trip there this weekend I was excited to see 75% off stickers on a lot of stuff.

I didn’t really “need” anything, but did pick up three things just to try out.

I got:

Almay One Coat Dial Up Mascara in Black.

Loreal Brow Stylist in Blonde.

Glam Eyes Lash Flirt Mascara from Rimmel in Kohl Black.

The total for all three was around $6.00 which is a steal in my opinion.

Then I headed over to Bath and Body Works to stock up on plugins while they’re having their semi annual sale and I also got this 2 oz Peach Citrus Body Lotion for free thanks to a coupon.

It smells amazing!! Perfect size for my purse.

Have you tried any of these products before?

Revlon Photo Ready Concealer Review

May 11, 2011 by: admin

I tend to stay far away from drugstore concealers. Not because I’m a makeup snob or anything I’ve just had better luck with department store ones. Until now….

I recently saw my girl one of my favorite gurus ,Kandee Johnson, mention the Revlon Photo Ready Concealer on her blog so I ran out and picked it up. Let me tell you it’s the best drugstore concealer I’ve ever tried.

It works great under my eyes without messing with my fine lines and it works even better on my blemishes.  Anyone else out there still getting blemishes even though you’re over 30? Hate that!!

I love Photo Ready and think you will too.  The only people who may want to avoid it are those with very mature skin or very dry skin.  Otherwise, pick yourself up and tube and let me know how you like it.

Available at Target for $8.99.

Have you tried this product?  What were your thoughts?

Spring 2011 Trend I’m loving: Hot Pink Lipstick

April 27, 2011 by: admin

Spring 2011 Trend I'm loving: Hot Pink Lipstick

I’m loving the Hot Pink lipstick trend for Spring. I think it looks amazing on everyone.

Spring 2011 Trend I'm loving: Hot Pink Lipstick

From the lighter skin tones to the darker ones you really can’t go wrong with this shade.

Here are a few tips for making it work for you though….

1. The brighter the lips the lighter the rest of your makeup should be.
2. Porcelain skin tones should go with more of a bubblegum shade while darker skin tones should try a raspberry shade.
3. Having trouble with this trend? Try a hot pink gloss to ease yourself into it.

A few of my favorite Hot Pink shades are….

1. Mac lipsticks in Show Orchid and Girl About Town
2. Revlon Colorburst in Fuschia
3. NYX Black Label Lipstick in Hot Pink

What do you think of this trend?

Pixiwoo Samantha Chapman presents Real Techniques

April 5, 2011 by: admin

The Pixiwoo girls are probably my favorite makeup “gurus” out there. They both seem so down to earth and are just adorable. How can you not love them?

Plus since my sister and I are both makeup artists and around the same age as Sam and Nic I feel like we have something in common.

So when I saw the video above I was very excited for the girls and I knew I would have to check out Sam’s brushes.

So off to Ulta this past weekend I went in search of the Real Techniques brushes but I couldn’t find them anywhere. So I stood in line for 15 minutes just to ask the cashier if they had them in stock.

Come to find out they did, but they hadn’t unpacked them yet (though the sets had already sold out without ever making it out on shelves!), so I asked the cashier if she could go get them out of the boxes for me.

Thankfully she did and the brushes were mine.

I purchased the only three brushes they had in stock which were the blush brush ($8.99) the stippling brush ($9.99) and shading brush ($5.99).

I’ve used them several times over the last few days and even washed them and I have to say they’re amazing quality. In fact I would say they’re just as good as high end department store brushes. Department store quality at drugstore prices how can you beat that?

You should definitely check these brushes out.

I plan on picking up all of them whenever they become available at my Ulta.

Congrats Sam on the great brushes.

I wish you the best of luck with your new adventure.

Have you tried these brushes yet?

What did you think of them?

Please share!!

Best!

P.S. The face brushes stand up on their own so they look adorable standing on your vanity and all the brushes are cruelty free since Sam is a vegetarian like myself. Love that!

Purchase the brushes at Ulta stores or online here.
