Philosophy Purity Made Simple One-Step Facial Cleansing Cloths Review

Happy Monday.

Hope your week is off to a great start so far.

Today I wanted to tell you about these cleansing wipes by Philosophy.

What they say:

These convenient, disposable cloths deliver everything you love about the original Purity Made Simple cleanser in a mess-free, travel-friendly format. Quickly swipe away dirt, makeup, and oil for perfectly clean skin—no need to rinse! Now you can take purity with you on the go, in your purse, gym bag, or travel bag.

My thoughts:

One of my New Years Resolutions is to always take off my makeup before bed. I know I should, but I don’t always do it. So when I received these as a Christmas gift this year I was very excited. Super quick and easy to use they remove my makeup with one swipe, no need to rinse. I’m keeping them on my nightstand so I won’t have anymore excuses to sleep in my makeup! I like these much better than any other makeup wipes I’ve ever used and I’d repurchase these for sure!

One quick note though if you have extremely sensitive skin you may want to avoid these as I let my sister use them over the holidays and she said they “stung” her face. I however have never had that problem with them.

45 Cloths are $20.00 at Sephora

Anyone else tried these wipes before?

What were your thoughts?

Please share!

Aveeno Positively Radiant Cleanser Review

February 5, 2010 by: admin

Hi Girls. Happy Friday! I hope you all have something fun planned for the weekend. I have plans to go birthday shopping ( I’m turning the big 31 soon….eek) with my sister which should be a lot of fun. We plan on hitting up Lush, Sephora, Mac and the CCO for sure so look for a haul post in the next week or two.

Anyway, about the Aveeno Positively Radiant Cleanser. Do you remember back in September when I mentioned The Skin Type Solution book and how everyone should pick it up? If not you can find the post here.

Well, the book recommends Aveeno Positively Radiant Cleanser for someone with my oily, acne prone skin type. And since I recently ran out of my much loved Philosophy Purity Made Simple, I decided to give the Aveeno product a try.

What do I think of it? Keep reading….

What they say:

Aveeno Positively Radiant Cleanser

* Brings out skin’s natural radiance
* Helps even out skin tone and texture
* Lifts away dirt, oil and makeup without over-drying for naturally radiant skin
* Oil free, hypoallergenic, soap free, noncomedogenic

Our thoughts:

If you’re a long time reader of this site then you know I love used to love Nars Sheer Glow foundation. Well, my love affair with sheer glow is over. It was causing me to have terrible breakouts so I stopped using it and went back to Bare Minerals. I quit breaking out soon after, but my skin was left with those dreaded red spots that won’t go away for nothing. So after rereading the Skin Type Solution I picked up the Aveeno cleanser and I love it! This product took away the red spots and left me with healthy, glowing skin. I love this product and can’t wait to try out some of the other Positively Radiant products in the future. I give this cleanser two thumbs up. And you can’t beat the price….I think I paid around $6.00 for this at Target. Can’t beat that now can you?

Have you tried any of the Aveeno Positively Radiant products? What were your thoughts?

Six Products I can’t live without

March 27, 2009 by: admin

This is a tag from Kate E. She emailed and asked if I would do a list of six products I can’t live without. The rules say that one product has to be hair care, one skincare, and one make up item….the other 3 products can be anything I want. This was a lot harder than I imagined, but here goes.

1. (Skin)Philosophy Purity Made Simple

This is the best face wash hands down in my opinion. It’s gentle, natural, and effective. I’ve had a lot of people mention how expensive it is, but I buy the 24 oz size from Sephora which costs around $40.00 and it lasts me an entire year so it’s really not that expensive at all.

2. (Hair)Jonathan Shampoo Serious Volume Volumizing Shampoo

I love love love love this shampoo. It makes my hair so healthy and voluminous. It’s also sulfate free and vegan. I love vegan/natural products so I was very excited when I found this one.

3. (Makeup) Bare Minerals Foundation

I started using this product around 2005 and have tried numerous foundations since then, but I always go back to this one. It’s easy to apply and leaves your skin looking amazing.

4. (Skin) Philosophy Help Me Retinol

This product has changed my skin dramatically. Help Me goes to work on your fine lines and clogged pores. I can’t believe the results I’ve seen with this product in such a short time.

5. (Makeup) Urban Decay Primer Potion

This is a totally nude eye base that glides on your skin and then disappears instantly. It’s the ultimate eye prep for smoother, longer-lasting, crease-proof eyeshadow. It’s so amazing I don’t go a single day without it.

6. (Skincare) Neutrogena Age Shield SPF 90 Face Sunblock with Helioplex

This product brings you protection against both UVA/UVB rays. The lightweight lotion absorbs quickly into skin for a fresh, non-greasy feel. We’ve got to prevent aging as much as we can. I hear girls all the time talking about reversing the signs of aging with plastic surgery, but my philosophy is I’d rather prevent it than reverse it.

That’s it my six products I can’t live without. What products made your list? I’d love to hear them. Have a great weekend ladies.

Philosophy The Supernatural Foundation Review

February 26, 2009 by: admin

I’m not a big fan of liquid foundation I just can’t stand the way it feels on my skin. So about 5 years ago I started using Bare Minerals and I fell in love with it. I’ve tried every mineral powdered foundation under the sun since then and haven’t found anything better. Until now?

I’m a huge fan of Philosophy products in general so when I ran across this foundation from them I knew I had to try it.

This product is so quick and easy to apply. If you need to be out the door in 5 minutes, but still want to have gorgeous looking skin then this is your product.

Pros:

  • SPF 15
  • Offers shades for those of us with Fair skin and yellow undertones which is hard to find
  • Quick and Easy
  • Light to Medium Coverage
  • Leaves you with a nice natural glow to your skin

Cons:

  • The puff pads. I have acne prone skin so I don’t like that I can’t clean it. You can buy replacement puff pads though which I do plan on doing.
  • The price. It’s $35.00 which is $10.00 more than Bare Minerals.

So is it better than Bare Minerals? I think if Bare Minerals had a “perfect match” shade for me then it would be easier to judge. I mix two shades in Bare Minerals together to get the perfect shade and with the Supernatural Sand is the perfect match. Overall, I love them both, but right now Philosophy is winning my heart.

Have you tried this product? What were your thoughts?

The Supernatural retails for:$35.00 at Sephora.
