Philosophy Purity Made Simple One-Step Facial Cleansing Cloths Review

Happy Monday.

Hope your week is off to a great start so far.

Today I wanted to tell you about these cleansing wipes by Philosophy.

What they say:

These convenient, disposable cloths deliver everything you love about the original Purity Made Simple cleanser in a mess-free, travel-friendly format. Quickly swipe away dirt, makeup, and oil for perfectly clean skin—no need to rinse! Now you can take purity with you on the go, in your purse, gym bag, or travel bag.

My thoughts:

One of my New Years Resolutions is to always take off my makeup before bed. I know I should, but I don’t always do it. So when I received these as a Christmas gift this year I was very excited. Super quick and easy to use they remove my makeup with one swipe, no need to rinse. I’m keeping them on my nightstand so I won’t have anymore excuses to sleep in my makeup! I like these much better than any other makeup wipes I’ve ever used and I’d repurchase these for sure!

One quick note though if you have extremely sensitive skin you may want to avoid these as I let my sister use them over the holidays and she said they “stung” her face. I however have never had that problem with them.

45 Cloths are $20.00 at Sephora

Anyone else tried these wipes before?

June 2011 Beauty Favorites

June 27, 2011 by: admin

Are you someone who has a million beauty products, but always uses the same few over and over and over?

If so you’re just like me.

It seems like I’ve used nothing, but these few products over and over again lately.

2011 Summer/June Beauty Favorites

1. Prtty Peaushun Body Lotion. This stuff is amazing!
2. Xen Tan Daily Self Tan. Best self tanner I’ve ever used!
3. Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray. Use this and your makeup won’t budge all day!
4. Origins Vitazing Moisturizer. The only “foundation” I’ve been wearing lately.
5. Pro Face No Sweat Perspiration Retardant. Use this under your foundation for those days you’ll be in the sun a lot, but still want to look fresh.
6. Organix Moroccan Argan Oil. This product prevents UV damage to your hair and leaves it soft and smooth.
7. Lorac Double Feature Concealer and Highlighter. Decent product, not sure if I’d repurchase yet though.
8. Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain in Frenzy. I normally don’t like lipstains, but this is great for a day at the beach or at the pool because it stays put.
9. Urban Decay Naked Palette. Love this palette!
10. Mehron Setting Powder. This antiperspirant product is great for keeping the summer greasy look away.
11. Victoria’s Secret Radiant Face Trio in White Hot. Love this highligher. It’s just gorgeous.
12. Not pictured, but a favorite none the less is Benefits Creaseless Shadow in RSVP. Wear this under Urban Decays Sin as a primer and my shadow lasts all day.

And a swatch. Isn’t it gorgeous?

Swimsuit Season is Here so look great in your birthday suit with PRTTY PEAUSHUN!

May 31, 2011 by: admin

Ok. Ok. So I live in Florida and about 9 months of the year is swimsuit season, but I digress.

Over the Memorial Day weekend I went to the beach for the first time in months which is usually a scary thing. Pale lil, bruised(I’m a klutz) me on the beach for the first time all season is usually not good. But let me tell you it wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be thanks to “Liquid Magic”.

“Liquid Magic” in this case is really an amazing product called Prtty Peaushun.

PRTTY PEAUSHUN is a Skin Tight Body Lotion created by celebrity makeup artist BETHANY KARLYN. Subtle light reflecting particles in a natural emollient base give the skin a gorgeous, flattering glow. Radiance conceals minor imperfections like cellulite and stretch marks and helps to enhance definition.

Bethany has been using this product on her celebrity clients for years. Recently it was used on Brooklyn Decker in the advert seen above. (Not that she has any imperections to cover, but it’s the glow and radiance the product gives the skin that I love the most! Do you see how pretty her skin looks? That’s Prtty Peaushun!)

Tracy Anderson a celebrity trainer is also a huge fan of the product. Watch her talk about it in this video starting at around the two minute mark.

The lotion comes in 5 shades: Plain, Light, Medium, Dark and Deep Dark. I being the pale gal that I am got the shade light and it was perfect for me.

Prtty Peauchun is easy to dispense, leaves your skin looking and feeling amazing and it’s also cruelty free! How awesome. I’m pretty much obsessed with this product!!

You can pick up your own bottle of Prtty Peaushun for $36.00.

Look great in your birthday suit with PRTTY PEAUSHUN!!

A sample of this product was sent for review consideration.

Is Proactiv the cure for acne?

August 17, 2010 by: admin

How’s it going? Hope your Tuesday is off to a great start.

Anyone out there dealing with Acne, Adult Acne, Breakouts, etc? Then I hope this review will help some of you.

I had extremely clear skin most of my teenage years and never had to deal with much besides the occasional blemish. Fast forward to my 20s/30s and my skin went CRAZY!! I tried everything under the sun to try and cure my acne, but it just keep getting worse. So one day while I was at the mall about 5 months ago I stumbled across a Proactiv vending machine and decided to give it a try.

I started out using the system twice a day like they recommend and it worked it cleared up my skin, but it left my oily skin looking dry, cracked and old. So I switched to using the system once a day and it worked. My skin is now soft and blemish free. I’m so happy that after all of my searching for a acne cure I found one that works!

Pros:

  • works!
  • unclogs pores
  • makes skin look amazing

Cons:

  • gets pricey
  • drying

Overall, I say this product is worth giving a shot if you’re looking for clear skin.  I’ve gotten several of my friends/family using the product as well and they’ve had the same results. I mean if it’s good enough for Bieber it’s good enough for you and me, haha.

Aveeno Positively Radiant Cleanser Review

February 5, 2010 by: admin

Hi Girls. Happy Friday! I hope you all have something fun planned for the weekend. I have plans to go birthday shopping ( I’m turning the big 31 soon….eek) with my sister which should be a lot of fun. We plan on hitting up Lush, Sephora, Mac and the CCO for sure so look for a haul post in the next week or two.

Anyway, about the Aveeno Positively Radiant Cleanser. Do you remember back in September when I mentioned The Skin Type Solution book and how everyone should pick it up? If not you can find the post here.

Well, the book recommends Aveeno Positively Radiant Cleanser for someone with my oily, acne prone skin type. And since I recently ran out of my much loved Philosophy Purity Made Simple, I decided to give the Aveeno product a try.

What do I think of it? Keep reading….

What they say:

Aveeno Positively Radiant Cleanser

* Brings out skin’s natural radiance
* Helps even out skin tone and texture
* Lifts away dirt, oil and makeup without over-drying for naturally radiant skin
* Oil free, hypoallergenic, soap free, noncomedogenic

Our thoughts:

If you’re a long time reader of this site then you know I love used to love Nars Sheer Glow foundation. Well, my love affair with sheer glow is over. It was causing me to have terrible breakouts so I stopped using it and went back to Bare Minerals. I quit breaking out soon after, but my skin was left with those dreaded red spots that won’t go away for nothing. So after rereading the Skin Type Solution I picked up the Aveeno cleanser and I love it! This product took away the red spots and left me with healthy, glowing skin. I love this product and can’t wait to try out some of the other Positively Radiant products in the future. I give this cleanser two thumbs up. And you can’t beat the price….I think I paid around $6.00 for this at Target. Can’t beat that now can you?

Have you tried any of the Aveeno Positively Radiant products? What were your thoughts?
