Milani Baked Bronzer Review and Swatches

September 17, 2010 by: admin

Listen up girls….get yourself to a drugstore now and pick up a Milani Baked Bronzer. Really, you’ll thank me later.

I picked up the baked bronzer in the shade soleil a few weeks ago and I love it. Soleil is a gorgeous golden brown shade, which is perfect for helping you extend your summer tan into fall.

If Soleil isn’t doing it for you though don’t worry there are three shades total so one of them should be right up your alley.

These Milani products are a great drugstore dupe for products like MAC MSFs or Urban Decays Baked Bronzers, so if you’re a girl on a budget you should totally check these out.

The Pros:

  • Great Price ($8.99)
  • A great dupe for MAC MSF’s
  • Available at drugstores
  • Three color choices
  • A great color with out a ton of glitter

The Cons:

  • The packaging is UGLY. Sorry Milani, I  love your products, but the packaging is ugly in my opinion.
  • You get a ugly tape residue on the product once you open it which adds to the ugliness.
  • Contains a little glitter so if you’re looking for a matte product this isn’t for you.

Overall, I highly recommend these if you’re in the market for a good baked bronzer on a budget.

Review: New Milani Lip Flash pencil in 06 Flashy

September 16, 2010 by: admin

I was in CVS last weekend and I picked up the Milani lip flash pencil in Flashy. It’s a gorgeous fuchsia color with lots of sparkles. I just love the color it reminds me of something Rhianna would wear.

Here’s a swatch I did on my hand. It’s the closest I could get to the actual shade.

This lip swatch doesn’t do the color justice at all. Thanks IPhone camera for the blur, grrrr.

These go on similar to a lipstick, but they’re more on the dry side. I felt like it dried my lips out a tad so you may want to use a good chapstick before applying it. It also contains a ton of sparkle which some may like, but it made my lips feel dry and scratchy. Also the glitter stays behind long after the color has faded which isn’t the best look.

Overall, I’d say for only $6.99 if you’re looking for a vibrant drugstore lip pencil then it’s worth a try. Just moisturize your lips pretty well before hand or add a gloss afterward and you’ll be all set.

CVS Beauty Sale Haul

January 9, 2010 by: admin

If you follow me on Twitter (beautyfitness) you know I mentioned CVS is having a huge beauty sale. Tons of stuff is 50% and 75% off. I picked up everything above for around $23.00!

Two Loreal Voluminous Mascara’s which ended up being around $1.80 or so each. Great drugstore mascara!

Loreal Volume Shocking Mascara never tried this one, but couldn’t pass it up for $3.50.

I picked up the Revlon Beyond Natural Concealer for $2.62. Anyone tried this? Is it any good?

Milani Sunset Bronzer / Blush Duo in Sunset City for $1.72.

The three Loreal Colour Riche Lipsticks were $2.25 each. I got Pink Tranquilo, Cashmere and Taffeta. Love these lippies.

I also picked up a Almay Pure Blends Gloss in Petal and two Rimmel glosses in Rhythm and Candy Floss. They were all around $1.50 – $2.00 each.

There was seriously so much stuff on sale it was crazy. I think I may go back tomorrow and pick up a few more things. If you haven’t checked it out yet head on over to your CVS before the deals over.

Have you picked up anything from the sale yet? Please let me know.

CVS Drugstore Haul Number 2

August 17, 2008 by: admin

I stopped into CVS today to see what kind of deals they had going on this week, and they had some great ones so I’m glad I did.

I picked up:

  1. 2 Maybelline Colossal Mascara’s (These are $4.99 with $2.00 ecbs back making them $2.99 each)
  2. I got a Milani Glimmer Stripes All Over Color in Cocoa Glimmer and Milani Gloss in Glitz and Glam (Milani is on sale purchase $10.00 worth get $5.00 ecbs back)
  3. Allure Magazine September Issue

I’m very happy with the Milani products. They’re an amazing drugstore brand so check them out if you haven’t already. The Maybelline Colossal is really growing on me as well since I purchased a lash comb (Thanks for the tip Katie!). So that’s my recent haul. What have you purchased lately? Any thing I must get next time? Let me know I love hearing your recommendations! Here’s a picture that will hopefully make you smile, lol. This is my Pomeranian, who for some reason didn’t seem quite as excited about the haul as I was :) .

Inside my makeup bag

January 28, 2008 by: admin

I love reading about what everyone keeps inside their makeup bags so I thought why not do one myself. I hope you enjoy it and please send me pictures of what’s inside your makeup bags I’d love to see them.

1. Loreal Paris Revitalift UV Daily Moisturizing Cream with SPF 15 – This moisturizer is great it has Spf 15 and Mexoryl SX. It costs around $20.00 at Target but it’s totally worth the price.

2. Milani Luminous Blush – This is my favorite blush of all time. It’s very similar to Nars Orgasm but much cheaper. It was discontinued but I saw it at my CVS recently so they must have listened to customer complaints and brought it back.

3. Mac Skinfinish in Shimpagne – I usually put a little bit of this on after my blush for a healthy glow.

4. Nars Concealer – This is great concealer I use it to cover little imperfections.

5. Alima Lumina Illuminating Shimmer Powder

6. Mini Vera Wang Princess Perfume for touch ups through out the day.

7. Mac Nymphette Lipgloss – This has been a staple of mine for years.

8. Mac Paint in Stilife – I use this as a base for a lot of my more neutral eye shadow looks.

9. Mac Pigment in Your Ladyship – This is a must have pigment. You can use it like you would a skinfinish for a healthy glow. You can also use it for a very natural eye makeup look the possibilities are endless with this product.

10. Mac Velvet Smokey Eye Kit – I like this one so much more than the newest one that was released.

11. Loreal Voluminous Mascara – If you want lashes that look fake you have to try this mascara.

12. Lancome Kohl Liner

13. Lancome Artliner

14. Bare Minerals Mineral Veil

15. Bare Minerals foundation – the best foundation I’ve ever tried.

16. Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer – this stuff covers my dark circles better than any other concealer I’ve tried.
