ELF Flawless Finish Foundation Review

ELF Flawless Finish Foundation Review

Happy Hump Day.

Today I wanted to tell you about my new favorite foundation.

I’ve used Bare Minerals since 2006 and while I still adore it there are times(like this winter) I prefer a liquid foundation.

That leads me to my two liquid foundation staples Makeup Forever HD and Nars Sheer Glow.

I love the way the Nars HD Foundation lasts but it always seems to find a dry patch or fine line to settle into which drives me crazy and the Nars Sheer Glow is amazing it leaves my skin looking fresh and dewy but it doesn’t last very long on my oily/combo skin.

Which leads me to my new favorite foundation which is the ELF Flawless Finish Foundation.

It’s a lightweight, oil-free formula that blends in naturally for a beautiful semi-matte finish.

It’s like ELF took the lasting power of Makeup Forever HD and mixed it with the dewy finish of Sheer Glow and created the perfect product.

I know a lot of you out there are thinking I must have lost my mind.

I mean how can a $6.00 foundation compete with $40 dollar ones?

I don’t have an answer for you all I can say is trust me they can and at only $6.00 if it doesn’t work out for you then you’re not out a lot of money.

You can purchase Flawless Finish on eyeslipsface.com.

Has anyone tried the ELF Flawless Finish Foundation before?

If so I’d love to hear your thoughts.

E.L.F. Studio Tinted Moisturizer Review

March 15, 2011 by: admin

E.L.F. Tinted Moisturizer

I picked up this E.L.F. Studio Tinted Moisturizer at Target a few weeks ago, but I have to say I’m not a fan.

This product is much more moisturizer than anything else.

Maybe if you have perfect skin that just needs a little moisture you’d love this product.

But for me and my acne prone, less than perfect skin I hate it! HATE it!

I think this is the first product that I’ve hated in a long, long time.

Well, at least it was only $3.00.

Smashbox Sheer Focus

I’ll go back to using my favorite tinted moisturizer ever, which is the Smashbox Sheer Focus.

They look similar in the packaging huh?

Trust me though they are nothing alike!!

Note to E.L.F: a tinted moisturizer should at least make my skin look a little bit better.

I mean come on….

Oh well, if you’re interested in trying this product it’s only $3.00 at Target.

Have you tried this product?

What were your thoughts?

Elf Endless Eyes Pro Mini Eyeshadow Palette Review

November 16, 2010 by: admin

I picked up this Elf Endless Eyes Palette from Target about two weeks ago and I’m finally ready to offer a review.

Photobucket

My thoughts:

This palette was a huge let down. Almost all of the shadows are chalky and very cheaply made and only about 10% of the shades are usable. The usable shades being the neutral ones. I so badly wanted the gorgeous blue shade 2nd row on the right to work, but it was just a crumbly mess. I feel like you should skip this palette totally. Not even worth the $5.00 price tag in my opinion. BUMMER!

On the plus side the packaging is nice and sleek and comes with a mirror which I did enjoy. But that doesn’t make up for the rest of the palette being so terrible in my opinion.

Have you tried this palette from ELF yet? Please share your thoughts!

Retails for: $5.00 at Target.

ELF Beauty Book Eye Brights Edition Review

July 20, 2010 by: admin

You probably remember the ELF Smokey Eye book I reviewed recently. Well, I picked up the other beauty book as well and this one is called Eye Brights.

This set is a good value at $5.00, but it’s not as great as the Smokey Eye Beauty Book. This one contains three pretty chalky shadows which was disappointing.

You can see here that I marked the ones which were chalky. So only 3/12 which isn’t terrible, but I just wanted to let you know the Smokey Eye kit is much better in my opinion. I do love the blue, cranberry and purple shadows though they’re gorgeous and very pigmented.

Have you found these products in your Target yet? What were your thoughts?

ELF Products at Target Update

July 19, 2010 by: admin

I’ve been getting a lot of comments and emails about the ELF products I mentioned in earlier posts. Everything from when will your Target start carrying the products to where are they located. I’m sorry I can’t really help you with the first question, but the products in my Target are on an end cap. I went back this weekend to take some pictures for you of the set up so you will know what to look for.

As you can tell from the first photo some of the products are still being put out. If your Target doesn’t have the items out yet I’m sure they will soon.

I hope this helps some of you find the products!

ELF Cosmetics Natural Shadow & Brush Set Review

July 14, 2010 by: admin

Yesterday, I showed you the ELF Smokey Eye Book, now today I bring up the ELF Natural Shadow set.

This kit contains six natural shadows and a mini eye shadow brush.

These shadows aren’t chalky and they have pretty good staying power. Great quality for the price, $3.00!!

This is a great kit for those just starting out with makeup, girls on a budget, or just anyone who wants a drugstore natural shadow set. Another win for ELF.

Available at Target for $3.00.

ELF Beauty Book Smokey Eye Edition Review

July 13, 2010 by: admin

I’ve been a fan of ELF for a few years now so I was beyond excited when I walked into Target over the weekend and saw all the new ELF goodies gracing the shelves.

One of the products I picked up was the ELF Beauty Book Smokey Eye Edition. It includes a step by step guide to the perfect eye makeup, 12 eyeshadows, 1 eyeliner and 1 eyeshadow applicator. And while this same kit from any other brand would be 30+ dollars the ELF Beauty Book is only $5.00!!!! How can you beat that?

I tested it out this weekend and the colors are great, not chalky at all. Totally worth the $5.00 price tag.

Have you tried this or other ELF products? What was your favorite thing? Please share!

I’m back and Favorite Highlighters for Summer 2010

June 10, 2010 by: admin

I’m back!! Did you miss me? I hope so, because I missed you guys so much! I can’t believe it’s been so long since my last post…. I’m so sorry. I’ve been dealing with a lot of computer/internet problems lately….grrr. And on top of that sinus/allergy issues have been kicking my butt.

Today is a new day though and it seems the internet/computer issues have been fixed (crosses fingers) and I’m feeling much better so hopefully I’m here to stay!

So on that note….Today I wanted to discuss highlighters. I don’t know about you, but I’m obsessed with them at the moment. I have over 20 of them, but I always seem to reach for the same 4 products. Find out which ones they are below.

Eyeko Beauty Cream, Benefit High Beam, Elf Lilac Petal and Mac Silver Dusk.

Photobucket
(Pictured in order are: Eyeko Beauty Cream, Benefit High Beam, Elf Lilac Petal and Mac Silver Dusk).

All of these products are very similar as you can see from the swatches. In fact Elf Lilac Petal and Benefit High Beam are so close I’d consider Lilac Petal a dupe for High Beam. The biggest difference between the two? The price: Benefit High Beam is $24.00 while the Elf Shimmering Facial Whip in Lilac Petal is only $1.00 at Target!!

What are your favorite highlighters? I’d love to hear from you so please share.

Note: I received a press sample of the Eyeko Beauty Cream for review and the MAC Silver Dusk is a sample I got from my sister.

ELF Studio Golden Bronzer Swatches and Review

May 14, 2010 by: admin

The ELF Studio Golden Bronzer is one of my favorite ELF products at the moment. While I don’t find it much of a “bronzer” it makes the most gorgeous highlighter ever. I’ve been reaching for this product daily since I picked it up.

It’s so pretty!! Don’t you love it?

The Pros….
What I like about it:

* I love the black “Nars” like packaging
* The huge mirror
* Gorgeous color
* Only $3.00 which is a steal!
* Easy to use
* Great pigmentation
* Works great as a highligher

The Cons….
What I don’t like about it:

* Not great for use as a “bronzer”

Overall, I think this product is worth picking up if you’re looking for a great highlighter for ligher skintones. Just don’t expect to use it as a actual bronzer.

ELF products can be purchased at Target or online.

ELF Tickled Pink Studio Blush Swatches and Review

by: admin

Happy Friday!! Anyone have any fun plans for the weekend? My In Laws are coming into town this weekend, so I’m sure I’ll end up doing some shopping/dining out.

I have recently purchased a lot of Elf Studio Line products so expect to see several ELF reviews coming up soon. Today I’m going to start with the blush in Tickled Pink. Tickled pink is a very pretty pink blush that reminds me a lot of Benefit Dandelion. It’s a great shade for those of us with paler skin. I’m a MAC NC20-25 for reference.

The Pros….
What I like about it:

* I love the black “Nars” like packaging
* The huge mirror
* Great color
* Only $3.00 which is a steal!
* Easy to use

The Cons….
What I don’t like about it:

* Sorta chalky
* Doesn’t have the longest staying power

Overall, I think this blush is worth picking up if you’re looking for a cheap drugstore blush. Definitely, worth the $3.00 price tag in my book.

Have you tried any of the ELF Studio Blushes? What were your thoughts?
