Skyn Iceland Glacial Cleansing Cloths Review

November 30, 2009 by: admin

FEATURES & BENEFITS:

Coconut, oat and amino acid-based surfactants provide extra-gentle cleansing
White willow bark, a naturally occurring form of salicylic acid, soothes irritation and helps prevent breakouts and congestion in the skin. Alpha bisabolol, a derivative of super-potent German chamomile helps soothe and calm irritated skin. Cucumber and cornflower extracts help soothe, soften and tone skin. Icelandic kelp helps revitalize skin and fight inflammation.

What they say:

If you’re too tired to deal with the whole cleanser and wash cloth routine, the last thing you want to do is annoy your skin further with harsh cleansers that dry skin and strip it of its natural moisture.

Glacial Cleansing Cloths cleanse and detoxify stressed skin when you’re on-the-go. These foaming cloths are infused with Icelandic glacial waters and beneficial natural extracts to sweep away makeup, dirt, oil and other impurities while refreshing and soothing the skin. Their residue-free, non-drying formula doesn’t leave skin feeling tight or tacky so skin’s natural moisture balance and glow are restored. Best of all, they don’t need water! Perfect for every day or when you travel.

Our Thoughts:

I hate washing my face at night don’t you? It’s such a hassle and really who has the time? So when I received the Glacial Cleansing Cloths from Skyn Iceland I was very excited to try them out. They are no-water-needed foaming cleansing cloths which refresh, soothe and purify stressed skin. They’re so quick and easy to use I love them!! They’re perfect for the girl on the go. Mine have already been with me to the gym and I plan on taking them with me when I travel home for the Holidays next month. Oh and also they’re 100% vegetarian and cruelty free. How awesome is that?

Clark’s Botanicals Soothing Herbal Face Wash Review

November 25, 2009 by: admin

What they say:

Full of Vitamin E, Lavender, and Aloe to calm the skin and replenish moisture, Clark’s Botanicals Soothing Herbal Face wash is a non-foaming formula that will leave your skin ultra-soft and clean. Part of Clark’s Botanicals strategy in formulating this creamy cleanser was to create a face wash that was highly-effective, yet extremely gentle. Not to mention, it’s great for removing make-up and impurities.

Our Thoughts:

This herbal face wash is supposed to be geared toward people with dry skin, but my oily/combo skin loves it as well. It’s extremely gentle, yet it still manages to take off my makeup and it leaves my skin feeling silky smooth. Oh and I hear it’s great for travel as well because you can just towel it off without water. I don’t know about you, but I love products that make life easier. I highly recommend this product for those of you who’re looking for a gentle yet effective face wash.

Retails for:$ 45.00 at Clarks Botanicals.com.

Have you tried Clark’s Botanicals Soothing Herbal Face Wash? We’d love to hear your thoughts!

Being True Transforming Skin Tint Review

November 23, 2009 by: admin

The Holidays are almost here can you believe it? This time of year is wonderful, but it can also be hectic. Between the house guests, holiday parties and shopping a girl barely has time to complete a 5 minute face. Thankfully, I’ve found the perfect product to help me get ready in a hurry. It’s called Being True Transforming Skin Tint.

What they say:

Now you can change your look in the blink of an eye with our protective transforming skin-tint. A first-of-its-kind hydrating elixir foundation packed with minerals, essential vitamins and botanical extracts. Stressed skin will be instantly transformed back to a more youthful, even-toned complexion. Leaves skin aglow with a sheer to undetectable finish. Wear alone or as a primer under mineral foundation for added benefits. Ideal for normal to dry skin types. Available in 6 shades.

Our thoughts:

This skin tint is perfect for the busy girl on the go because it’s so versatile. Apply it alone for a sheer, luminous finish or wear it under your mineral foundation for a little extra oomph. It offers a sheer to light coverage, but don’t let the “sheer” part fool you, it actually covers minor imperfections pretty well. This has been my go to foundation for the past month and for a beauty addict like myself, who loves using something new everyday, that says a lot!

They say this product is great for normal to dry skin, but I have oily/combo skin and love it as well. I do have to touch up with powder during the day once or twice, but it seems like I have to do that with every single product out there. My skin looks healthy, natural, and radiant when wearing this skin tint. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a tinted moisturizer.

This product retails for $46.00 at BeingTrue.com.

Whitney Port’s Makeup Tips for a 5 Minute Face

November 18, 2009 by: admin

Any Whitney Port fans out there? I have to admit I’m a fan and while checking out her blog recently I noticed she mentioned her everyday 5 minute makeup routine. Here it is:

I start by mixing Fresh High Noon tinted moisturizer with the Fresh Soy Face Cream to get a nice base with a little sunkissed glow. Then I dust Bare Minerals Powder with SPF 15 to even out my skin. Next I bronze with Guerlain Number One for Blondes on my cheeks, hairline and jawline. Then I brush a little bit of NARS Orgasm Blush on my cheekbones, a little on my forehead, nose, and chin to keep it constant. I use Anastasia brow gel to give my eyebrows a nice shape (this is especially helpful if I haven’t had time to go in to get them done.) I highlight under my eyebrows with Benefit Eye Bright and then curl my lashes with a Sephora eyelash curler. Sometimes if I’m really feeling like going all out for the day I put on Maybelline mascara.

This look is really easy to transition from day to night. I reapply the basics and use the Stila Smudge pot with a slanted brush to put eyeliner on. For my lips I love the Fresh Sugar Lip Stain with SPF in it.

Seems like a lot of steps but it really only takes 5 minutes!

Blum Naturals Daily Combination/Oily Towelettes Review

November 12, 2009 by: admin

I love wearing makeup, but hate removing it at the end of the day and to be honest sometimes I don’t. I know that’s bad, but at least I’m honest right?

So what’s a girl to do when she doesn’t want/have time to deal with a 10 step skincare program every night? One of the things that helps make my life easier is cleansing towelettes. I keep a pack on my end table for those nights where sleep is more important than skincare.

A great brand I tried recently is Blum Naturals. I have combination/oily skin so I used the combo/oily towelettes which contain Organic Tea Tree Oil.

Blum Naturals Combination/Oily towelettes are infused with natural and organic botanicals that gently remove eye & face make-up. These soft towelettes will leave your skin feeling naturally clean and pure.

Tea Tree Oil, also known as Melalecula Alternifolia, is derived from the leaf itself. It combats oily skin by dissolving oils deep down where the problem begins leaving your face feeling fresh and supple.

You can find Blum Naturals at Ulta, Whole Foods, Drugstore.com and many other retailers.

Retail: $6.99 for a package of 30
