Heather Locklear’s Diet and Fitness Secrets

May 30, 2008 by: admin

Heather Locklear is a very beautiful woman no doubt about it. But did you know she’s 46? Wow! I don’t even look that good and I’m only 29 talk about motivation to hit the gym, lol. So what keeps Heather looking so fabulous?

Heather stays fit by lifting weights and hitting the treadmill and stairmaster four times a week. Plus, she sticks to salads and protein. And according to a pal of Locklear’s she has recently taken up surfing as well.

I wonder how many calories surfing burns an hour? Living near the beach I’ve always wanted to give it a try but never have.

Pure Luxe Calamine Face Bar Review

by: admin

I was so excited to get this product because I was in need of a new face wash and this one sounded so promising. I’ve been trying it out for about three weeks now and I’m very pleased with it.

What they say:

This soap is excellent for troubled skin. Full of beneficial ingredients all designed to aid and soothe. Made with premium oils such Shea Butter and Emu Oil. Calamine powder (zinc oxide & iron oxide) for its soothing effect, chamomile and hibiscus for soothing anti-inflammatory properties and mild astringency, rose geranium essential oil to help balance sebum and to keep skin supple. Tea tree essential oil for its anti-bacterial and anti-acneic effects, and chamomile essential oil to help soothe irritated skin.

My thoughts:

This soap is amazing. I’m really angry at myself for wasting so much money all these years on the latest and greatest face wash when this works wonders and only costs $6.00 for a full bar. It smells great and has really helped clear up my skin. I love love love love love it. If you have oily/acne prone skin like myself I highly recommend this product. Have you tried this product from Pure Luxe? What were your thoughts?

Retails at Pure Luxe.com for $6.00 for a full bar or $1.00 for a sample bar.

Jackie Warner Workout Dvd Review

May 27, 2008 by: admin

I purchased this video hoping I’d love it as much as I do the show and I do. Jackie is very motivating and boy do I ever need that, lol. This video is really kicking my butt though because I woke up this morning and could barely walk!! I guess that means it’s working though right? Right?

My favorite part about this workout is that she shows you modifications for each exercise so you can make it easier or harder depending on your level of fitness. This is one of my all time favorite workout Dvd’s and that’s saying a lot because I own a ton of them. Now i’m off to find some Icy Hot =/.

Have you tried this Dvd? What were your thoughts?

Coastal Scents Makeup Brush Haul and Review

May 21, 2008 by: admin

I have been hauling way to much lately which is terrible for my bank account but great for you because it means more reviews, lol. I purchased these brushes about two weeks ago and thought I’d do a quick review to let you know how I feel about them.

Pink Kabuki Brush ($4.99)
This is a nice soft blush for applying your mineral foundations or powder. This is my least favorite of the bunch though because it seemed to shed more than I would have liked but overall a nice brush.

Pink Round Crease Eye Brush($1.49)
This brush is perfect for the crease and it makes doing the outer v of your eye a whole lot easier. This is probably my favorite brush of all. I didn’t have a problem with shedding at all with this one.

Pink Oval Fluff Shadow Brush($1.69)
This is a great brush for applying all over color on the lids. It packs on your eyeshadow amazingly well. Great brush.

Flat Mineral Bronzer Buffer Large($4.25)
I use this brush to apply my mineral foundation and it works amazingly well. This brush is also great for applying bronzer and mineral veil.

Duo Fiber Black Stippling Brush($7.95)
This brush is amazing for applying blushes/bronzers/highlighters to the skin. I only had a small amount of shedding during the initial washing but haven’t had any problems since then. This brush is comparable to the MAC 187 but is a lot cheaper so I’d say you should get this one instead. Love, love, love this brush!

My final verdict:

These brushes are amazing and such a great value. You really can’t go wrong with them. I have several others sitting in my cart as we speak waiting to be purchased. Have you tried these brushes? What were your thoughts?

All brushes mentioned above are available at : Coastal Scents.com

Yves Saint Laurent Pop Stick Blush

May 20, 2008 by: admin

Aren’t these some of the prettiest blushes you’ve ever seen? They are so lovely but I just can’t imagine spending $42.00 for a blush. Have you ever spent that much for blush?

What they say:

A barley sugar shaped blush stick with two sweet and lively mixed shades to highlight, sculpt the face, and make the skin glow with health and radiance. The fresh and ultra-gliding texture of this stick blush will take you into a merry-go-round of color. Its swirling shades enliven the cheeks with a spring like natural glow.

Everyday Minerals Haul and Review

May 13, 2008 by: admin

I’ve been hearing a lot about Everyday Minerals lately so I placed an order with them several weeks ago and I have to say I am now a fan as well.

Here’s what I bought and my thoughts:

Medium Beige Neutral Semi Matte Foundation: I tried Light and Fairly Light from Everyday Minerals with no luck. Then I tried Medium Beige Neutral and the shade is my exact match(I’m a Fairly Light in Bare Minerals if that helps). The product goes on very smooth and feels amazing on the skin. I have been a mineral makeup user since 2005 and I don’t see myself ever going back to liquid foundation again. This stuff also lasted all day even in this very humid/hot May weather we’re having.

Price:$12.00

Final Verdit: I would definitely buy this again. The quality is close to Bare Minerals (my hg foundation) and the price is much better so that makes it a buy in my book.

Waffle Cone Blush: This is a beautiful soft brown blush with a natural bronze sheen a must have for summer. I’ve been wearing this everyday since I bought it!

Price:$8.00

All Smiles Blush: This is a sherbet colored blush which is very nice but I don’t love the color on me so I probably wouldn’t purchase it again.

Price:$8.00

Star to Finish Powder: Love it! This is a product you can put on before you put your makeup on it works like a primer and then you can also use it as a finishing powder. It works great to keep my oily skin looking great all day.

Price:$12.00

Spring Pink Lip Color: A fun medium shade of pink with a semi-matte finish, ideal for that natural everyday healthy look. I love this and plan to order several more since I’m always losing mine.

Price:$3.50

Cosmetic Wet Wipes: I love these they are all-natural skin cleansing and gentle makeup removal towelettes. They have a wonderful Lavender and Grapefruit scent and are 100% biodegradable, flushable, and made from all natural ingredients.

Price:$3.75 for 80 wipes (Such a great deal.)

Overall, I had a very positive experience with Everyday Minerals. The prices are great as is the quality. Have you tried Everyday Minerals what were your thoughts?
